About me

Rebecca Oxenham

Designer, Maker and Tutor

Hello, my name is Rebecca, and I am the designer, maker and workshop tutor behind Rebecca Oxenham Jewellery.

Nature is my therapy; it is where I feel calm and it is always my kind friend.  I love nothing more to be out in the countryside or by the sea, walking my dog and enjoying the beautiful scenery around me.  I find myself collecting shells, bark, leaves and other organic items I discover along the way and come home with pockets bulging – just like a child!

It is from these items that I get my inspiration for my jewellery.  With constant experimentation I create beautiful, delicate, and unique pieces of fine jewellery.  I want to capture the beauty of nature in my jewellery and to transport the wearer to their own memories and favoured landscape.

For many years this was just a hobby, but when I was made redundant at the start of the first Covid-19 lockdown, I used this opportunity to turn my pastime into a business.  I have a particular love for silver clay jewellery making and have studied at the Cornwall School for Art Craft and Jewellery for my Level One, Art Clay Diploma Certification in Silver Clay. This is a world-wide, recognised qualification, administered by the official distributors of Art Clay in Europe. I am also a member of AMCAW (Association of Metal Clay Artists Worldwide).

Every piece of jewellery is lovingly handcrafted from my Hampshire garden studio using recycled silver and gold.  It is important to me that my impact upon the environment from which I draw my inspiration is not overly impacted by my actions. Therefore, alongside using recycled precious metals and responsibly sourced gemstones, my packaging is also eco-friendly.

To share my passion for jewellery making, I also run beginners’ silver clay jewellery making workshops and have designed severa beautiful kits for people to make their own jewellery using silver clay at home.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and I would be only to pleased to hear from you if you have any comments or suggestions, or just want to talk about jewellery.
